Sharing Corn Seeds Is Like Sharing The Gospel

There was a farmer who grew excellent quality corn. Every year he won the award for the best grown corn. One year a newspaper reporter interviewed him and learned something interesting about how he grew it. The reporter discovered that the farmer shared his seed corn with his neighbors. So he asked the farmer,

“How can you afford to share your best seed corn with your neighbors when they are entering corn in competition with yours each year. Why would you share such great seeds?”

The farmer responded,

“Don’t you know? The wind picks up pollen from the ripening corn and swirls it from field to field. If my neighbors grow inferior corn, cross-pollination will steadily degrade the quality of my corn. If I am to grow good corn, I must help my neighbors grow good corn.”

This is how Christianity works. If we, as Christians, desire our communities to be blessed by GOD, then we must not keep the light of Christ to our self. We must spread the good news to everyone, especially with our neighbors.

This is true in all aspects of life, not just in the Christian community. Those who want to live meaningfully enriched lives, must learn to share what we can afford with others, for the value of a life is measured by the way we touch other lives. And those who choose to be happy must help others find happiness, especially by sharing true happiness which is bound up with the spiritual awareness of Christ.

If you don’t even share the seed of the good news with your neighbors, then one day the bad seeds of Satan’s lies, which in this analogy is the pollen, will dominate the community, and soon evil will abound as good ceases to exist

While we cannot all travel the world, nor can we all travel to other communities in our own state. Some even find it difficult to travel to other towns in county they live in, yet there is a ministry we can all step out into, and that ministry begins by spreading the Gospel with our neighbors across the fence. By the word of your mouth, you will pollinate your neighbors by sharing the Gospel truth, and thus plant a seed that will defeat the lies of Satan.

By doing so our whole community will be blessed, and Satan’s lies will not be able to take hold, because we are then honoring Christ’s last command of spreading the Gospel to the World. (Matthew 28:19-20).

So don’t keep that eternal spirit saving seed to yourself, pollinate the world with the Good News. I suggest you should begin by sharing it with your neighbors by planting a seed. Then watch as GOD does the increase and evil will dissipate from your neck of the the woods, and in time we will win the World for Christ, one neighbor at a time.
