The book of Galatians is a lesson of how the Old Covenant Law is dead and obsolete to those who follow Christ.
Consider Paul’s words carefully, and meditate upon them. I find there are many Christian’s who are ignorant the of the truth. It saddens me that, like the foolish Galatians, they want to cling to something that it’s null and void for all Christians. Either you died to self and to the flesh and now follow Christ, or you are bound by a law that will never satisfy your souls need for redemption from your sins.
This is not a trivial matter. If you, as a child of Christ, believe He died for your sins, then why would you ever allow others to be fooled into thinking GOD would equate Himself to a law that was insufficient to save you from Hell.
Read what Paul wrote to the Galatians, who themselves were told by Judaizers they were bound by the law. Instead of defending a lie from a false prophet named Joseph Smith, help open the eyes of those confused you know are being fooled by a tv series that teaches lies about what Jesus claimed.
“But if, while we seek to be justified by Christ, we ourselves also are found sinners, is Christ therefore a minister of sin? Certainly not! For if I build again those things which I destroyed, I make myself a transgressor. For I through the law died to the law that I might live to God. I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me. I do not set aside the grace of God; for if righteousness comes through the law, then Christ died in vain.”
(Galatians 2:17-21)Paul is telling us the law is useless for salvation, and if it is useless then why would Jesus ever equate Himself to the law???
I tell you again, Jesus is not the law. Instead HE fulfilled and for those who believe upon Him, HE abolished it so that we can live free through Him.
Just as Abraham was justified through faith 450 years before the law existed, so are we justified by putting our faith in Him instead of a dead law. You must understand that the law did not exist when Abraham lived, and one day that law which GOD created to be a tutor would expire and become null and void through Christ work on the cross. Whom, like Abraham, we put our faith in.
The law is a curse that Christ freed us from. He became a curse for us to be free us. For if our inheritance of freedom from sin is of the law, than the promise of the Messiah is no longer a promise: But GOD gave the promise of a seed through him, when HE told Abraham, through your seed I will bless the nations of the World.
Finally, I offer this passage from Hebrews that will back up my claim that the Law is now obsolete,
For if that first covenant had been faultless, then no place would have been sought for a second. Because finding fault with them, He says: “Behold, the days are coming, says the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah, not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day when I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt; because they did not continue in My covenant, and I disregarded them, says the Lord. For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, says the Lord: I will put My laws in their mind and write them on their hearts; and I will be their God, and they shall be My people. None of them shall teach his neighbor, and none his brother, saying, ‘Know the Lord,’ for all shall know Me, from the least of them to the greatest of them. For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their lawless deeds I will remember no more. In that He says, “A new covenant,” He has made the first obsolete. Now what is becoming obsolete and growing old is ready to vanish away.
(Hebrews 8:7-13)Brothers and sisters, we are saved by the Messiah, Christ Jesus, who signed the contract of the new covenant with His own blood on the cross. Thus seeings how GOD gave us a new covenant, the old covenant is dead. If the old covenant is dead, than so to is the old law, that was given to Moses and the people as tutor. Know this, and do not doubt me, the law is dead, void, and abolished to those of us who put our faith in the One Who’s blood the new covenant was signed with.
I pray those who have ears to hear, will hear HIS voice and call upon the name of the Lord Jesus
