Thanks to a pissed off MN CD 4 voter for finding this gem and sharing with us. What you will see is a sad display of disrespect by a United States Congresswoman from Minnesota, Democrat Betty McCollum. It is a video that Betty does not want her voters to see, but it’s too late Betty, you have been exposed.After watching this video you will see how obvious it is that she she intentionally omitted the words, “Under God” from the Pledge of Allegiance.

At the time, her staffers claimed she took a breath, but with the video now out, the lie has been exposed.  She intentionally omitted the phrase.  What really makes this an affront to all is that she was actually leading the pledge on the floor of the House.  If she were just saying it as a part of the whole chamber it would have been fine.  However, by omitting the words, “under God”, she was actually showing her disrespect to her position, the Flag, God and the American people.  Oh, did I mention that she likes to brag about her Catholic faith when running for re-election?

If this offends you, or makes you angry, then I like many others ask that you email and call your friends who may be in her district to help expose her disrespectful attitude towards America and our pledge.

I agree with you KG, and you are also most likely correct by questioning whether or not she even believes in GOD.

That’s OK though, because God knows she exists, and she will learn that one day when she is standing before Him.

I’m an atheist Iraq war vet; I believe she made the correct decision. Many of us atheists are good patriots. Not all of us want to be sermonized to by our politicians.

There is a reason the Constitution calls for a separation between church and state.

No where in the constitution does it have the phrase “Separation of Church and State”.

It was taken from a letter Jefferson wrote to a church official.

The founding fathers only said that the government cannot set up an official government religion like England did in the Church of England.

Study history for yourself and quit counting on the leftists schools and liberal media to be your educator. Open your eyes and learn the truth.

I’m as conservative as they come, a true red white and blue patriot – but also agnostic. However, I’d never go so far as to disrespect the Pledge. It wouldn’t kill me to say the word God. I also don’t go around touting my Catholic faith to get myself elected as this woman apparently does. My point, I guess is, men and women have died for our right to believe whatever we want regarding religion, and I take full advantage of that right. But in my opinion that doesn’t give me the right to be disrespectful while doing so.

Very good point. She was LEADING the pledge yet instead of showing the respect and wisdom of leading she went off on her own personal tangent and drew even more attention(negative) to herself.

From the first amendment debate (the actual congressional record) you can read the exact intent. It is provided below so that you can stop believing AND PROMOTING a lie.

August 15, 1789. Mr. [Peter] Sylvester [of New York] had some doubts…He feared it [the First Amendment] might be thought to have a tendency to abolish religion altogether…Mr. [Elbridge] Gerry [of Massachusetts] said it would read better if it was that “no religious doctrine shall be established by law.”…Mr. [James] Madison [of Virginia] said he apprehended the meaning of the words to be, that “Congress should not establish a religion, and enforce the legal observation of it by law.”…[T]he State[s]…seemed to entertain an opinion that under the clause of the Constitution…it enabled them [Congress] to make laws of such a nature as might…establish a national religion; to prevent these effects he presumed the amendment was intended…Mr. Madison thought if the word “National” was inserted before religion, it would satisfy the minds of honorable gentlemen…He thought if the word “national” was introduced, it would point the amendment directly to the object it was intended to prevent.

The phrase “under God” was added to the pledge in 1956 by a Senate terrified by communists and the threat of the “red scare”.

The phrase is offensive to atheistists and sincerely religious people alike as it breaks the the spirit, as well as the letter of the First Amendment on the Constitution, which reads:

“Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.”

I have no problem with this. God is about as real as purple unicorns are. Christians, Muslims and Jews are all delusional sadly. Religion unfortunately perpetuates mass delusion. There is not a single shred of evidence that god exists. I don’t live in Ms McCollum’s district, but I will be donating to her campaign because of this. We need fewer fundies in office and more rational people that don’t believe in fairy tales of the Bible and Quran.

I did ask Chuck to amend the heading of my post. However, I only did so because this is not an article about Muslims or the war on terror.

That being said, we are at war with Islam, like it or not. It was not a country that attacked us. It is not a country sanctioned government that beheads Christian heads while the person is alive with a dull knife in various Muslim controlled areas of the world. It is not a country that attacked soldiers in Texas. It is not a country that sends men, women and children into crowds with bombs strapped to their bodies for the express purpose of killing non-Muslims.

These are all attacks by men who are Muslim, and because they understand that their Holy book the Koran tells them they should do whatever it takes to destroy the infidels. The Korans is a book written by one man during one man’s life. A book that tells his followers that any one who is not a Muslim must be forced to convert to Islam, or face the consequences of being put to death. Other than Judaism when the whole world was barbaric, no other religion in the world commands that its followers kill those who will not convert. No, Islam is the only religion, and so Islam is at war with the world.

So you should be able to see if you wanted to know the truth, that Islam declared war not just on America, but against the whole non-Muslim world. The phrase I use under my moniker, the hawk, is a factual statement. After all, it is the liberals and Muslims who say that anyone who tells the truth about Islam is said to have an irrational phobia of Islam. Well, as that phrase so eloquently states, “It is not Islamaphobia, when they really do want to kill you”.

It is true that the only Muslims who do not wish to kill those of us who will not convert to Islam are in direct violation of the Koran. That is why every Muslim controlled country does not persecute those who do kill the infidels, they support them. maybe behind the scenes where the world does not see it, but they do. When was the last time you saw, Saudi Arabia, Iran, Jordan, Syria, Lebanon, Palestine, Lybia, Sudan, or any other Muslim controlled country put to death a Muslim guilty of killing Christians or even when was the last time they extradited a murdering Muslim that is wanted in connection with murdering someone in a non-Muslim country?

As OneVike is fond of saying, “Islam is a religion born straight out of the depths of HELL”. I pray you see the light one day, but if you do not in this world, you will when you bow before God and confess that Jesus LORD!

Sorry for the rant, but you asked for it by making your statement that ALL Muslims do not wish to kill us.

As for you claim that we are not one nation under God, true all the people are not believers in God, but every nation on the earth is under God. He is the One True Creator of the universe. He props up, and takes down rulers. But for the grace of God, we would all be living like the orphans in Bangladesh, not knowing where our next meal is coming from, or even if we will be alive to see the sunset tonight or rise in the morning.

America is a nation set upon Judeo Christian values, and we need to get back to where those who are perverse and lazy are shunned by society again, not held up as examples of moral pillars of our society.

What you fail to understand is that we were a nation under God long before the words, “under God” were added to the pledge.

Read the preamble of the Constitution, it has the following in it,

“We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.; that among these are lifetime, liberty, property, and the pursuit of happiness.”

So try as you may, you are as wrong as this disrespectful Congresswoman. Also, she is running on the fact that she is a Christian. She keeps telling her constituents that she is Catholic. So she is not an atheist as you and many others elude to. So she is also disrespecting her religion also.

My friend, one day you will stand in front of God and then you will know that He is who you deny exists.
